ShoPaHoLic + MahJonG AdDiCT

Hi peeps, i'm back from Johor!! Yup, went in to attend Hx's cousin's wedding as his dad personally invited me to go, hard to reject lar. HAha.... The wedding is held in hx's dad hometown, a small town in Johor called Batu Pahat.

On fri morn, 2 cool S350 Mercedes accompained by 2drivers came to pick me up. One fetched the youngsters - Hx, me, ShuFang(hx's sis) n Kenneth(shufang's bf), while the other feteched the folks. From my place, we took the Tuas 2nd Link to avoid any jams n unwanted attention. The whole journey took 1.5hrs from Tuas checkpoint n we reached Hx's Ahma's place juz in time for lunch. Hx's dad even gave 400Rm to each of us for our expenses there. =) After lunch, we went to Hx's ErGu's(her son is marrying) place to intro ourselves.
After intrduction, we went to Batu Pahat's One n Only shopping mall - Summit. I only bought 2 nail polish while the guys bougth lotsa pirated PS2 games. I didn't bought any other items as the Fashion sense there is abit, ermm OFF. HAha...
After walking ard in Summit, we went back to Ergu's place for dinner buffet, AS msia has vast land areas, their house r mostly 1-2 storey bungalows. As i was amazed by how Ergu's huge frontyard can accomodate 8round tables for relatives, frens n neighbours. She practically invited the whole stretch of neighbours in tt lane! Well, wat i experienced the Kampong Style living, where everyone is so helpful, co-operative n united. This is wat i called the Kampong Spirit.

On sat, we went back to ErGu's place to wait for the Bride to arrive. Upon hearing the blasting fire crackers, we knew tt the Bride has arrived. After witnessing all the neccessary Traditional cereomony like JingCha(presenting tea to the elders), we had another Lunch Buffet. After tt, we slacked n play cards at Ergu's place n even went back to Summit to kill time b4 the actual Wedding dinner begins.
So by 7.30pm, we head to Batu Pahat One n Only Grandest Restaurant to attend the Wedding dinner. The programs r slightly diff from the normal wedding dinner u attend in spore. The greatesr difference is that - They have a huge stage n they are singers n dancers performing onstage to entertain the guests. Haha.... N they sing Hokkien, chinese n even English songs! U can even dedicate songs n they'll sing for u! Got 1 singer who sings Hokkien song even promote his album n selling them there lor! Totally an eye-opener n a different experience!
But the Shark's fins, Abalone n Suckling Pig totally made my day!

On sunday morn, after having breakfast at Ahma's hs, the drivers drove us to Batu's One n Only beach to order seafood n do some sightseeing. The place is more like a kelong where ppl live by the sea for a living n there's a famous temple where travel agencies in spore will oragnise those 1day trip to there for praying n to eat their seafood products.
After collecting our seafood, we went back to Ahma's house n begin to Dig in! The fish, mussels, n Crabs r really fresh n good!!! Totally YUMMY!!
So after the seafood lunch, we went to again, Batu's One n Only Carrefour to kill time. At abt 5pm, we went back to pack n get ready to head home!
By 9pm, i'm already Home Sweet Home!! =)

This whole trip is more like a relax, lais-back experience. However, i realise tt the ppl there r very easily contented, united, carefree and happy wif the simple life they lived. N of coz, the ppl there married at younger age of 22-23 n will start a family by 24yrs old. Unlike spore, we only grad by 23yrs n by the time we r ready to settle down n get marry, we r already hitting the BIG 30. This is the difference is small town Batu Pahat n modern Spore.

Therefor, We need to learn how to be Happy n Do not take wat we hv currently for granted. Treasure all the loved ones ard Us n we can lead Happier lives!!
