I'm so drained from work everyday tt i dont even have the energy to on my computer to spree/msn/check mails n etc.... Tt's how tired i can get... But nonetheless, i feel tt my work is a damn COOL job (so far).
Coz i went to TUNNELS for the circleline project at BLV station. N since i worked for a Jap company, i heard tt the older Japanese tradition DO NOT ALLOW WOMEN to go into tunnels!! Oh man, i think i muz be one of the 1st few females to go into the tunnel! This is how COOL man! Not alot of the ppl have this chance to step foot inside a mrt tunnel, let alone view the construction of it!! Wearing White helmet, safety goggles, luminious safety harness and safety boots, i learned how underground tunnels are built~~~
N since mine is a Site office, the engineers there are ALL MEN!!!
There's not even a Singaporean engineer working on Site, all the engineers hired are from Thailand, India, Japan n of coz, my tunnel engineer is a Dutchman. Coz apparently, S'porean engineers want the better life of sitting in office and work for consultancy firms instead of site jobs which require them to get hands-on, dirty, soiled and sweaty.
Also, I'm the 1st attachment student(female somemore) with this company!!
Guessed wat, i've even become friends with the Foreman one of his worker - coz they guided me through one of the assignment tt i'm supposed to do - Levelling. HAha.....
Though the environment is super Male Dominant, the guys there treated me damn well and take really good care of me.
N for most of the time, I look like a bimbo besides those Chief/Senior engineers who have tons of experience and knowledge. But they are really patient and so willing to teach and explain to me ALL the complicated and complex stuff.
Oh yar, i still gotta do a powerpoint presentation and present it to the engineers at the end of my attachment. Oh man..... I suddenly feel so stressful presenting in front of all the experienced engineers......
Hope i can survive through this 10weeks....
So far, i've survived the 1st week and learning lotsa stuff.
There's more stuff to learn in the coming weeks!
May i have a great learning journey ahead~~~
Cheers!!!
